Thanks to donor generosity, Longs Peak Hospital was able to speed up plans to expand its intensive care unit, as well as add state-of-the-art technology to better serve residents of Longmont and the surrounding area. At Longs Peak Hospital Foundation, our mission is to develop and steward philanthropic resources to improve lives. The Longs Peak Hospital lymphedema clinic, opened through the power of philanthropy, continues to exemplify how donor generosity helps bridge gaps and add value for patients.

In September, the foundation held a virtual event for donors to hear from Longs Peak Hospital leaders. Lonnie Cramer—president of UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital and Broomfield Hospital—and his leadership team shared ways UCHealth is innovating to ensure the community’s health, provided a COVID-19 update, and offered a review of the foundation’s accomplishments as we reach our third anniversary.

We often are asked by our patients, “How can I say thank you to the people who made a difference while I was in the hospital?” Longs Peak Hospital Foundation offers the Grateful Patient Program as a way for patients and their families to do just that.

At UCHealth, the culture of philanthropy is strong. Employees donate generously via our employee giving program to support our mission to deliver world-class health care. They also support each other through gifts to employee hardship relief and scholarship funds. Employees of Longs Peak Hospital and its affiliated clinics donated more than $97,000 over the past 12 months to support numerous causes.

The comfort cart at Longs Peak Hospital is funded by individual donors who support Longs Peak Hospital Foundation’s Patient Assistance Fund. The items on the cart are available for staff members to offer for alternative pain management and comfort for our patients.

The generosity of private donors and community business partners, as well as many of our fellow employees, has enabled us to award more than $46,000 in scholarships to 34 UCHealth employees since 2018.

We are grateful to Longmont Community Foundation for two recent grants. The Longmont Community Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of people in Longmont and the surrounding area. Our foundation received grants to help our health workers caring for the community during the COVID-19 pandemic and to provide education for new fathers.
