Cancer care expansion in Longmont
We are hopeful that your summer is starting well. Some of our cancer patients are filled with joy because treatment was successful, and they had good insurance.
Other patients are experiencing really challenging times. They are struggling to enjoy the green trees, birds chirping, and colorful sunsets because they are distressed. Their battles with cancer and the related financial pressures are weighing them down.
You can make their lives brighter with a donation to UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital Foundation. Last year, the Longmont-based UCHealth Foundation created two funds to support UCHealth’s new, local cancer care program:
- Cancer Care and Innovation
- Cancer Patient and Family Assistance
UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital has partnered with the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Rocky Mountain Cancer Center. The University of Colorado Cancer Center in metro Denver is one of only 53 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the nation and is the only such center within the state.
Our expert medical team dreams of adding Stereotactic Radiosurgery to treat smaller lesions throughout the body beyond our current capabilities. By adding this modality to the existing TrueBeam Linear Accelerator, Longs Peak Hospital will be even more sophisticated and will keep patient care closer to home. The Cancer Care and Innovation Fund will help pay for the new stereotactic radiosurgery equipment.
You can help bring Stereotactic Radiosurgery to Longmont. Make a donation today.
